my best friends wedding. plus some old drawings..

November 4th, 2009 by Rebekka in Uncategorized

Ok, today i:

worked on two sweaters, started making a set/background for a new photo, brainstormed about how to make another prop for another photo which is proving to be one of the most challenging ever so far, (one of these days it will be complete and i can show it to people, i look very much forward to that day) , and started processing my best friends wedding photos, finally.. (She got married sept 19).

I also went to the gym, lifted weights until i nearly fainted (forgot to eat today)  and am now incredibly exhausted.

so, i’m going to post one of those wedding pictures as pic of the day, because honestly i can’t make anything else today, and i did spend a good half hour working on it.

Also, because someone just mentioned that they’d like to see these,  here are some old drawings i made when i was around 14 or 15, of the members of my then-favorite band, Led Zeppelin:

I was a huge nerd back then :)

Mrs. Guðleifsdóttir! (You could play in “The Matrix”)
You are a very special person. Kudos.
One per day is ambitious. Perhaps overly so? “Challenging and attainable”, they say.
Never mind. Good to hear from you more often than every 12 weeks.

well, overly ambitious is fine for a while. And even tho i’m not churning out a masterpiece a day, my mindset has been completely different lately and i’ve been getting a lot more done..

Very nice work. I love drawing, but I envy your talent to draw faces at such a young age. I have worse (anime) sketches in my binder at age 15.

I just wanted to say that I’m madly in love with all of your work. I’m a photo major and for my color photo class, we had to pick and artist and recreate one of their images. I’m picking one of yours to recreate, and I hope that you know how much your work inspires me.

These are just awesome Rebekka!!!
You had such talent an an early age… and your work today is multifaceted and just beautiful.
Thanks so much with for sharing!

You’re a huge nerd even now. :P
The wedding shot is good. It’s more intriguing than the usual type with the bride and groom looking at the camera.

what post-processing did you do to the wedding shot? did you have them in a pseudo-studio… and is that the same sheet you’ve been using forever? (kidding mostly)

hmm.. there’s no sheet mentioned here, or used.. that’s in the next entry :p

I shot them both outside, and inside an art gallery that was kind enough to allow us the use of their wall and windows, i wanted simple daylight, not flash..

Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix? I’m falling in love with you!

BTW, great drawings. All I can draw is a straight line, not that straight.

what do you mean, “back then” … :)

ok.. i was “also” a huge nerd back then. Better? :p

Wow that is a very cool drawings.

I hope one day you share some photos from your teenage metal days. I’m sure you were the coolest nerd in 8-F.
